Son Rise Ranch Horse Riding Supports Our Home Schooling Program

I found out about Son Rise Ranch from a dear friend and knew if she would suggest this place I would not be disappointed.

I had originally hoped to be a part of the homeschooling classes but we found a better fit in the Buddy Class. The boys are with a bevy of girls and take on a partner with 1 horse. They groom their horse and from the ground up handle the tack and saddling their own horse.

There is also a component of learning the theory of horsemanship that I find a wonderful adjunct to our science curriculum. I highly recommend Son Rise Ranch in Camas for Horse Back Riding Lessons.

From their site, this fits so nicely:

Romans 12:2 "...be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind..." filling your heart, building character & learning life skills by horsen' around!!!

Ryder loves horses and has always felt comfortable, almost bonded with respect and wonder of these mighty and sacred of animals. I adore this in him as I know he has innate kindness and compassion toward animals (as well as others). One of my favorite characteristics in any human being but to know it in my son - well, a mother could not be more proud.

Ryder is also at the cusp of 9 and prefers to "hang" with his guy friends. So being around the group of all girls, I observed carefully to see if this would hinder his joy of horse riding.  In fact, once again, I was pleasantly rewarded with his gentleness toward another and shifted his energy to be more of a gentleman, rather than his rowdy roughness that is what I see with his play with his brother and friends. Is my little boy growing to be a wonderful young man - yes, I pray this and I see this and I am grateful.

Now Dax on the other hand...my little hellion! He's more interested in being "cool" on the horse like a cow boy! It's adorable too. He's got half clown and half cool cowboy going on.

I'm loving this adventure with them!
