Mandarin Chinese - Characters and Pinyin

The boys have been enrolled in a wonderful program to learn Mandarin Chinese at the Bodhi Tree Learning Center. It is a perfect adjunct to  our Enki Education and immerses them in native speakers and traditional teaching of Mandarin. Beginning with characters rather than relying on pinyin. I am pleased at their progress and their joyful experience. I will start putting things together for a trip to China in their 10th and 12th years. We hope Germany and Scotland will be next year to visit their grandmother.

Malidoma Ancient Wisdom Rising

Through Enki Education our choice for homeschooling curriculum I have learned about amazing human beings I may not have learned any other way. It's Valentine's week and President's Day and while these days can be fun the depth of what we bring to our children can forever impact their lives.

For me, the experience of bringing Malidoma Patrice Some' to Ryder has been awe inspiring.  I cannot pretend I have great affinity for those who chose to kidnap him and all the other boys for a purpose I find abhorrent. It shows how great we must travel. I do see that if this journey was not his to travel we would not know that these types of things exist. Kidnapped from his village in the 60's and escaped to journey home 125 miles on foot. At this moment I'm a bit speechless. It affected me greatly. To see him now is a balm to the anguish I felt for his mother and family from having their son taken.

I call on and teach my sons to call on their Divine Teachers, Masters and Loved Ones, Angels and Saints included. Malidoma like his Grandfather before him was a great healer and teacher who guided his grandson well.

"Divination is a beautiful, empowering and healing manifestation of spirit.  It is an opportunity to hear direction from the realm of the ancestors.  It is a process by which your epic story is reflected back to you, giving you greater clarity about your gift to the world. "

We are supporters of Aviela and encourage others who feel inclined to learn and support his work.

What we saw at the Shining Star Bee Festival

Every year the Shining Star Waldorf School hosts a lovely Bee Festival. It's always a treat.

These are photos of the classrooms - inspiration galore. At one time I had intended to enroll the boys in this school. Every now and then I think about it but I love our Enki Education and the extra curricular work we get to do with TRIBAL Academy! Perhaps a day or two each week would be perfect! Let's see what I can work out.

Year of The Horse! Our Library hosts a celebration and we share in the festivities

I can never say enough good things about our library. We are so very lucky to have access to this resource! I hope everyone makes use of this wonderful gift.

We learned about Calligraphy from a master.

My favorite part was Dax interaction and expression of admiration for a fellow artist! Dax, remember this brilliance in your soul as you grow my beloved son.

As Dax and Kelly pushed their way gently forward in the crowd to see the singers, Dax said, "Do you see the little girl singing? Isn't she good?"

Later Dax saw the little singer (she was ) 5near the balloon maker and walked up to her and said
"You were great at singing"  and she said "thanks" and Dax said, "do you do other classes?" and she said "Sometimes"  they continued to have a lovely dialogue as Dax questioned her about her life and such. Be still my heart. Seeing two beautiful 5 years olds connecting.
